St. Ignatius Parish Youth Ministry welcomes all Junior High (5th–8th grade) and Senior High (high school) students, offering connection through faith, service, community, and fun.
Youth Ministry at St. Ignatius Parish is for teens who want to grow in faith while building lasting friendships. Together, we strengthen community, share in worship with fellow youth leaders, serve our parish and the wider San Francisco community, and enjoy fun outings that nurture joy and connection.
Our Core Principles are:
Build community – Through small groups, shared prayer, and parish events, youth form authentic friendships rooted in faith.
Lead in worship – Teens are invited to participate as leaders in liturgy and prayer, growing as witnesses to their faith.
Serve with purpose – Youth live out their discipleship by serving at the parish and throughout San Francisco.
Grow with joy – From retreats to social outings, we celebrate the joy of being young people of faith.
CalendarYouth Ministry offers faith-connection that emphasizes the love and compassion of the Lord. We incorporate the Sunday readings into our activities. Teaching-Masses deepen students' understanding of liturgy and worship, and Spiritual Retreats offer opportunities for deeper reflection and inner growth. During the Faith Formation program year (October - May), we have youth Masses on certain Sundays at 5 pm.
Through service and connecting with other communities, our youth better understand diversity and their role in creating a more just world. These experiences help them embody the values of service, justice, and love in their everyday lives. Monthly service projects, seasonal collections for the less fortunate, and immersion programs are essential parts of this program.
Through our Simple Needs youth participate as donors and volunteers and help with the items delivered by parishioners on the second Sunday of most months.
Youth Ministry focuses on human connection and creates a safe and supportive space for teenagers to flourish. Through this program, youth explore age-appropriate questions about their place in the world, while being nurtured in a supportive community. The program focuses on building foundations and connections through regular, fun gatherings with peers, families and adult volunteers and guest speakers, and monthly check-ins, summer activities, and athletics.
