What could be more encouraging and helpful during a difficult struggle for housing than a fresh change of underwear and socks when you really need them?
Simple Needs Sundays are regular Parish collection drives in support of the most basic and urgent needs of our homeless and struggling neighbors. Essential everyday items that are in constant need and short supply on the streets, like new toiletries, socks and underwear, or a used warm jacket and cap, are collected on a rotating basis at all Masses on the second Sunday of most months. These donated items are then distributed as alms to the poor locally through various Catholic service agencies directly to those most in need.
Look for regular bulletin and email newsletter announcements on which items are being collected each month, and remember, even the smallest contribution can make someone’s day brighter!
