The Fall of the Leaves

Students are coming back to school, those fortunate enough to have summer vacations are returning to a more traditional schedule . . . For a variety of reasons, the "fall of the leaves" presents a time of renewal for our community. Whether it is being together again in meaningful ways, continuing to live God's love as expressed in the Gospels through Mercy & Justice, or a renewal of responsibility of being the primary catechist for your children, the time is always ripe, but especially so in fall. How to Plan a Funeral, Friday, Sept. 12, 10 am

OWLS October Series: The Saints, 10 am on three Fridays, October 3, 10 and 17

Giving to Others, Friday, November 14: 10 am. A day to write cards and letter to parish shut-ins, vets at the VA, residents of Hayes Convalescent Hospital, and Buena Vista Manor House

The Songbirds and Christmas Luncheon! Friday, December 5, 11:30 am

• Shelter Meals is back in action! Help prepare wholesome meals, for unhoused people, in a large institutional kitchen located on the USF campus. We meet on the 2nd and 4th weekends of each month. You do not need to be an experienced cook.

• Children's Faith Formation needs early registration! Children’s Faith Formation is for children between the ages of 6 and 14 who would like to learn more about their Catholic faith and/or prepare for their sacraments. Register & pay by October 1, 2025 and save $100!

• Last chance to join the Summer Reading Project! There's still time to acquire and read You Are Not American: Citizenship Stripping from Dred Scott to the Dreamers, by Amanda Frost. Read the book, join our discussion, and go deeper by hearing the thoughts and perspectives of parishioners who also engaged this text! Join fellow parishioners for an in-person discussion in the Accolti Room on Sunday, September 7, after Hospitality. Or, if you can't make that, you can join us on Zoom, Wednesday, September 10 at 6 pm.

• Lectio Divina for High School Students is now offered through our Youth Ministry Program! Tuesday, September 10, 4 - 5 pm. Join us as we explore the upcoming Sunday readings through Lectio Divina—a reflective and prayerful way to engage with Scripture. We’ll also take a quick look at the Saint of the day and their relevance for our times. RSVP with the link on our website or in your email newsletter!

• Save the Date! Sunday, September 28 is Home4Dinner. The next Home4Dinner, "Welcome Back BBQ" is coming right up and we hope (and expect!) to see you September 28 during, and after, the 10 am Mass.

• Music Ministers Open House! Our Music Ministers would like to cordially invite anyone with a musical gift to share to our Open House on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:30 pm in the church. No commitment necessary, and all skill levels are welcome!
