Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors (OWLS) is a thriving ministry as seniors (50+) gather to enjoy each other’s company and participate in a variety of activities that reflect the interests of senior members of our parish. The group generally meets once a month, on the second Friday of the month, in Fromm Hall. Here are the fall events!
August 14, Movie Morning: “The Way” is a 2010 film with Martin Sheen about the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), an ancient pilgrimage trail to the believed tomb of St. James the Apostle. Enjoy a lighthearted comedy overlaying the sadness of lost son, while learning what continues to attract thousands of pilgrims from all over the world each year. Popcorn and movie snacks included!
September 11, Early Christian Art Before Constantine: Catacombs and House Churches, a presentation by Kathleen Maxwell, followed by discussion.
Fall Series: October 9, 16 and 23: God Isn’t Finished With Me Yet – A three-session book discussion, with Fr. John McGarry!
November 13, The Gospel of Mark, by Fr. Paul. In the first part of this meeting Fr. Paul Devot will introduce and lead a discussion of The Gospel of Mark. This will prepare us for the new liturgical year when the church will use this Gospel. Afterwards, we will write cards to the homebound of the parish.
