Dear St. Ignatius Parishioners,
The Parish Finance Committee is pleased to share the approved budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. This year, we are reflecting on what it means to become ever more fully a Eucharistic People: a community that receives God's gifts with gratitude and, in turn, gives generously of ourselves to become a blessing to others. Our parish budget is one expression of that calling. We expect to invest $2.95 million in the mission and ministries of St. Ignatius Parish. These numbers represent much more than the cost of operating a church. They represent choices about the kind of parish we seek to become.
Nearly $1 million supports the worship that gathers us around the Eucharistic table. We are investing in faith formation for children and adults, and in the sacramental life through which we accompany one another. We are supporting the gatherings, volunteers, and lay leaders who transform a parish of more than 4,000 people into a community of belonging. And this year, we budgeted $219,000 for our Mercy & Justice ministries, including dedicated full-time leadership, as we seek to carry what we receive in the Eucharist outward in service to our neighbors.
None of this happens without generosity. Our single largest source of income is the Parish Giving Appeal (PGA): the gifts parishioners freely make to sustain our parish mission and operations. This year, we anticipate $1.65 million in PGA support. Other gifts go to support particular ministries, Mercy & Justice, our Archdiocese, and the needs of the Global Church. Together with Mass collections, program income, and prudent stewardship of our investments, these gifts make possible the ministry represented in this budget.
See the budgetIn the coming weeks, you will receive via our annual Parish Giving Appeal an invitation to consider your own financial commitment to St. Ignatius for the year ahead. Before making that decision, we hope you will spend some time with this budget. Consider not only what our parish spends, but what our shared generosity makes possible.
A budget is, at its heart, an expression of priorities. We believe this budget reflects a parish centered on the Eucharist, investing in people, growing in discipleship, caring for one another, and increasingly turning outward in service.
Thank you for the many ways you already give of yourselves to this community through your prayer, your presence, your service, and your generosity. Together, may we continue becoming a Eucharistic People, receiving God's abundant gifts and offering them freely for the life of the world.
With gratitude,
St. Ignatius Parish Finance Committee
