Dear St. Ignatius Parishioners,
The St. Ignatius Parish Finance Committee is pleased to share our financial summary for fiscal year 2025, which ended June 30, 2025, and the approved budget for fiscal year 2026. Your generosity continues to make St. Ignatius a vibrant Jesuit Catholic community for San Francisco and beyond.
Thanks to strong financial stewardship in prior years, we can budget for a bold and creative response to the broad vision and Gospel mission to which God is calling our parish. We will invest in expanded ministries (including a full-time hire to direct our social justice work) with a 19% expense increase and 6.5% income increase for FY ’26, all while maintaining a balanced budget so we work within our financial means. On the heels of our successful campaign, and with a solid staff and leadership cohort, we are excited for the chapter ahead. Thanks to repairs completed through our recent Preservation & Promise campaign, building maintenance costs will decline. Most other departments show only modest adjustments, demonstrating careful management as we expand liturgical offerings, youth and family outreach, social justice ministries, and faith formation.
To give everyone a fuller picture of the resources that sustain our mission, this year’s budget includes investment income and restricted gifts as new reporting categories. The Finance Committee is particularly focused on helping the parish direct the fruits of our investments toward serving more people and deepening our ministries. In our judgement, the parish is strong and well-positioned for the year ahead.
The Finance Committee meets monthly to review budgets, fundraising progress, and investment performance to ensure sound stewardship. We welcome your questions at [email protected] and, above all, we thank you for the gifts of time, talent, and treasure that make our parish a true “beacon on the hill.”
With gratitude,
St. Ignatius Parish Finance Committee
