Beyond Borders: A Film & Reflection on the Immigrant Experience
Join us on Sunday, June 14, from 11:20 am–12 pm in Xavier Hall in Fromm Hall for a short film screening and guided discussion exploring the realities of immigration in the United States. Through storytelling, reflection, and conversation, we will examine themes of human dignity and solidarity in the face of immigration, deportation, and immigrant detention.
We'll watch a fantastic PBS "film school short" video in which we take an animated trek across hostile borderlands. All are welcome to join us as we listen, reflect, and discern how we are called to respond with compassion and action.
The event and discussion will be facilitated by student intern, Natalia Garcia Moreno, a recent USF graduate, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Legal Studies and Dance. A San Francisco native and a first-generation Mexican-American, she is passionate about social justice and uplifting the stories of migrants worldwide.
